Getting started
When can I download Memphys?
Memphys is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start learning. There is nothing to sign up for.
Does Memphys work offline?
Yes. Lessons, reference audio, object recognition, handwriting checks and speaking checks all run on your phone, so you can learn without an internet connection.
Your progress
Where is my progress saved?
On your device. Memphys has no account and no cloud backup yet, so deleting the app, or clearing its storage, removes your progress, photos and points. They can’t be restored afterwards.
Can I move my progress to a new phone?
Not yet. Progress stays on the device where you learned.
Speaking and writing
The speaking check didn’t hear me
- Allow microphone access for Memphys in your phone’s settings.
- Find a quiet spot and hold the phone about a hand’s width away.
- Tap Record, say the whole word clearly with its tones, then stop.
- Use Turtle mode to hear the word slowly before you try again.
My handwriting isn’t accepted
Write the strokes in their usual order and direction, and keep the character inside the box. Tap the hint to see the next stroke. Very cursive or calligraphic styles may not be recognized.
The camera didn’t recognize my object
Fill the frame with one object in good light and try again. If it’s still unsure, you can search for the word yourself. Memphys recognizes everyday objects from its own word list.
Points, Memphyses and levels
How do I earn points?
By learning: finishing lessons, writing words from memory, and completing your daily quiz. Points buy snacks and gifts in the kitchen. Points have no cash value and can’t be bought with money.
How do I meet new Memphyses?
Tap your Memphys on the home screen to see everyone. Five Memphyses are ready from the start; the others join as you learn words, share meals and grow together.
How do levels work?
You earn XP for lessons, skill passes, daily quiz reviews, meals and each day you learn. Every new level comes with bonus points.
Can I turn reminders on or off?
Yes, in Settings. Care reminders are optional, arrive between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., and are never sent more than once a day.
